1. Discovery

The first step is discovery. Your design begins with great conversations, where I listen to your ideas for your home. We discuss your dreams, your lifestyle needs, your design preferences, and importantly, your budget.

2. Design

The second step is design. I translate your dreams, needs, and preferences into a design that is respectful of your budget. I share design drawings for your review. After listening to your input, I make any revisions you would like to see. Working together, we create an outstanding design that is aesthetically beautiful, meets your functional needs, and is respectful of your budget.

3. Cost Estimate

The third step is to obtain cost estimates from trusted contractors. I can recommend contractors for your project or we can work with a contractor of your own choosing. Once we have cost estimates, we can further refine your design as necessary to ensure it meets your budget.

4. Construction Drawings

The fourth step is to translate your design into construction drawings. The purpose of construction drawings is to ensure your project is built as designed and to allow the contractor to obtain appropriate building permits on your behalf. If there are structural or mechanical issues involved with your design, I will bring in a qualified structural engineer or mechanical engineer to resolve them.

5. Construction

The final step is construction. This step is the responsibility of the contractor you choose to hire. However, I typically stay involved through this step to answer any questions that you or the contractor may have.
